The 4th of July

We had a great day. We started the morning out with a parade. George, Amy, Ike and Grace met us there. Charlie was so excited. Jack woke up a bit crabby so he stood in the shade with the wagon and Grandpa. Claire was a gem. I just carried her in the Bjorn and she was sound asleep. Later she slept in the wagon. Charlie's favorite part was getting candy of course. Jack's favorite part was the street sweeper and tractors. After the parade we came back to mom's house and grilled brats and burgers. After naps we made home made ice cream. The boys loved helping make the ice cream. Around 8:00 we put Jack and Claire to bed and took Charlie out to see the fireworks. He was so excited to go. We had lawn chairs and a giant blanket and tons of mosquito repellent. Every time the fireworks went off Charlie would yell "Wow." It was so fun. It was so fun to just sit and listen to him talk. He really is a talker. When the fireworks ended Charlie said "Isn't this wonderful." What a good kid.
