Trains, Planes and Automobiles

We finally made it to Arizona!!! We took the train from Ann Arbor to Chicago which ended up being a 5 hour train ride. Charlie thought riding the train was the coolest thing ever. We stood on the platform and watched the train pull up and he yelled CHOO CHOO and when we sat down Charlie announced to everyone that we were on a CHOO CHOO. He could hardly contain himself. They did really well thanks to a DVD player, snacks and a car seat that kept Jack from escaping. My parents picked us up from the train station and Charlie was so excited to see grandma and Pa Pa but he wanted to see James too. Now anytime he sees a train he tells me we are going to grandmas house. We spent a fun week with my mom. We went to Black Berry Farms and saw the animals, rode a carousel, and had a train ride. Later that week we went to yard sales which I love to do especially with my mom. We got a ton of toys that we really don't need but it was tons of fun.
The airplane ride from Chicago to Arizona went great even though the plane was completely full. I packed a giant backpack full of everything. It was like Mary Poppins handbag. We watched Baby McDonald twice and did a sticker book, played with trains, had snacks, suckers on take off and descent, milks and blankets, read three stories and took two trips to the bathroom for diaper changes which was quite the sight and had a little run up and down the aisles. Luckily I had the car seat to strap Jack in or it would have been a disaster. After that Jon picked us up from the airport and it was 11pm Chicago time and midnight Ann arbor time so I was sure the boys would have conked out on the way home but they were wide awake and Charlie as soon as he saw Jon Yelled Daddy. Now every time we see an airplane he says taking the plane to daddy's house.
